This system was designed for marking titanium drill bits with gauge sizes and depth bands. A 4-axis SCARA robot was used for moving a bit from the fixture and rotating it in front of the marking area. Before marking, the robot places the bit in 1 of 2 depth registers. These are used for positioning the robot grip at a specific height on the bit in order to mark the gauge size on the handle and the depth bands along the shaft. Depending on the program, the robot will either place the part back in the tray or drop it on the exit chute.
Control Micro Systems will design a custom solution to meet your specific material processing needs.
