Copor has reached a high level of specialization and is especially equipped to manufacture metal filters, since 1980.
Stainless steel powder filters are processed by blending fine powdered materials, pressing them into a desired shape ,compacting, and then heating the compressed material in a controlled atmosphere to bond the material by sintering. The powder metallurgy process consists of four basic steps: (1) powder manufacture, (2) powder blending,(3) compacting, (4) sintering. Compacting is performed at room temperature, and the elevated-temperature process of sintering is conducted in neutral atmosphere. Simple shapes are available , please see mould list. On request, we can produce in according with customers drawings. The porosity can be changed working different blending powders. Stainless steel powder filters are generally used with gases and they perform a filtering degree from 2 to 60 microns. They are normally used for hot gas filtration like flame arrestors , with medical and food devices. The filters have high corrosion resistance because they are manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel.
