The moving gantry CNC router is suited for applications panel and sheet processing. Its table is going to remain fixed, while the bridge will moves over the surface. This will save a lot of floor space and allow for really useful options to be included such as tool changers and multi-spindle drilling heads. The design is not so well suited to very heavy cutting and high material removal rates as the moving steel frames will have difficulties in absorbing vibrations that are created. But the pro series machine can easily break down full sheets of 1-1/2" thick plywood, laminates, veneers, or 1/4" thick aluminum jig plate, at fast feed rates, under continuous duty conditions. It can handle heavier jobs on a limited basis.
