• Reliable resistance to harsh environments (salt erosion, sand, rain and fog)
In the mid-wave infrared and long-wave infrared range, germanium windows have many applications. Typical applications such as 7~14um, 8~14um infrared thermal imagers, infrared temperature measurements, etc. Due to the high refractive index of germanium, the reflectivity in these bands is relatively high, and the intrinsic transmittance of single crystal germanium is not high, optical anti-reflection coating is generally required.
How to produce high quality infrared coated germanium windows?
Creator Optics selects high-purity infrared grade germanium single crystal as the windows substrates. These preferred materials are processed into the required precise external dimensional germanium window blanks by CNC cutting machines, round grinding machines, multi-wire cutting machines and other equipment. They are then subjected to multi-step CMP to complete the precision polishing of the germanium flat window. Now, the infrared germanium window with excellent surface quality, surface flatness and double-side parallelism characteristics has been completed. However, because some specific indicators have not yet been met, they still cannot be perfectly applied in infrared systems.
