The 3D Model Reconstruction software produces 3D geometric models of complex test structures from a batch of 2D photos. EDM Online Visualization window is available in all the test types of the EDM software, including EDM DSA, VCS and EMA. This option provides fast and efficient structural model generation and full 3D visualization of the structure deformation under test. EDM Modal Operational Deflection Shape (ODS) allows users to better visualize the deformation of the structure under test. Time domain data and spectrum data are animated using the animation feature of the geometry model. This feature is integrated with EDM Modal Geometry and works for all types of EDM Modal testing. 3D Model Reconstuction There are three methods of generating a three-dimensional geometry model of the structure under test. Take photos of model for construction (2D to 3D) Import FEA/CAD model Create model using geometry editor Crystal Instrument’s 3D Model Reconstruction software uses the advanced technology of 2D to 3D reconstruction to provide a simple solution to the intricacies of creating 3D geometric models of convoluted test structures. This approach not only saves the user time and effort but also provides an accurate model with great simplicity. The user simply takes photos of the test article and feeds it into the software. These images are matched to extract the features and a 3D model of the structure is constructed after point and surface reconstruction processes. This method is extremely easy to use, does not require any manual labor and is much quicker than the other two approaches.
