Throttle Position Sensors
In many applications, the Engine Control Module (ECM) needs to know the position of other components. The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) sends an electrical signal to the ECM which indicates the angle of the throttle valve and helps calculate proper air/fuel ratios.
For contacting sensors, a wiper arm inside the sensor is mechanically connected to a moving part which is also in contact with a resistor. As the wiper moves on the resistor, the signal output changes. The closer it gets to the VC voltage, the higher the signal output. Our 525-Series contacting TPS sensors feature a low-cost, robust design that benefits from patented technology and its small hermetically sealed package which eliminates the potential for moisture and debris penetration. For more demanding environments, the extremely compact 583-Series Rotary Position Sensor provides a robust solution that accurately performs in conditions up to 160°C within applications requiring up to 360° of rotational movement. Utilizing the latest non-contacting Hall-effect technology, the electronics are sealed from the environment in which they operate, providing ideal conditions for light and commercial vehicle applications.
