The TA-Center 2 heads are the new and more performing release of the TA-Center boring and facing heads. These heads are designed to be used with automatic tool change and are applicable on every machining center
The toolholder slide displacement is managed by a U-DRIVE Unit. This group is controlled directly by an axis called “U” of the numerical control of the machining center.
A machining center, set up in this way, allows to perform several different machining such as internal and external turning, grooves, taper bores even variable, concave and convex radius operations, cylindrical and conical threads and facing for serration.
U-DRIVE
The U-DRIVE Unit can be easily mounted on the machining center next to the spindle in order to ensure the mechanical connection of power take-off with the TA-CENTER head. The main components of the U-DRIVE are:
main body
servomotor
mechanical unit, prepared with air inlet connection for the cleaning of the power take-off, for the automatic coupling with the TA-CENTER.
The U-DRIVE Unit can have different configurations depending on the application on the machining center:
horizontal
horizontal 90 degrees
vertical
Application of the U-Drive
The U-DRIVE can be easily positioned on the machine with a plate adapted to the machine that is connected and fixed to the holes on the front of the spindle machine. Other special configurations can be provided on request.
REFRIGERANT LIQUID SUPPLY
Coolant comes out from two adjustable nozzles located next to the slide after crossing the taper and the rotating body of the head. This remarkable advantage ensures longer life of the cutting edge, faster cutting speed and better surface finishing.
