The machine we present is a tabletop filling and closing machine for cartridges, for the processing of glass cartridges for injectable products in sterile applications. Production speeds up to 160 units per minute. Its design complies with the GMP and US FDA regulations, in special compliance with the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. This machine can perform the following operations: • Cartridge infeed to the working area through an infeed screw. • Lower positioning of the plunger. • Introduction of mixing balls. • Gas flushing before filling process. • Filling. • Closing of the cartridge with an aluminum cap and rubber stopper. • Accumulation of the cartridge to the next machine or operation. Accurate introduction of the plunger into the cartridge is automatically controlled by the servo motor. The filling station is equipped with 2 filling pumps. The filling is done in two steps to avoid introduction of air in the cartridge. In the first step of the filling 2 systems can be used: • Peristaltic, with SpeedFill pumps. • Volumetric, with valveless rotary piston pumps.
