The TL320 ceilometer measures cloud base height, vertical visibility and cloud cover. Based on the LIDAR principle, the TL320 can detect up to 3 cloud layers.
The DEGREANE HORIZON TL320 Laserceilometer is a cloud height sensor usedmainly at airports to provide cloud basealtitude, vertical visibility and sky conditionparameters.
Operating according to the LIDAR principle(Light Detection and Ranging), the TL320sensor can report up to three cloud layers. The TL320 provides the latest state of theart technical development in the field ofLaser source and Signal Processing. Thetransmitter unit uses a pulsed MOPA laserwhich offers a very high reliability. Thewavelength (1550nm) is particularly suitedfor measurement under all weatherconditions and guarantees a fully eye safeclass 1 (complies with ANSI - Z - 136, IEC825, EN 60825-1 norms).
The TL320 sensor can be used as a standalone instrument or integrated into ameteorological system. TL320 ceilometerincludes a pedestral base, allowing beamtilting from 0° to 90°. The tilting positioninsures a total protection against directsolar radiation, and facilitates field testingagainst a hard target.
The ceilometer’s opto electronics are enclosed in a rugged housingprotecting the sensor from extreme operating conditions. An automaticblower with heater ensures to keep the window clean and dry under allweather conditions.
