The UMAC 16-Axis MACRO CPU provides up to 16 axes of motor control in a remote, in-MACRO-Station interface for encoders, flags, direct-PWM digital drives, analog drives, stepper drives, analog I/O, and digital I/O for Delta Tau's PMAC products that have a MACRO interface. This device must be controlled by a MACRO Ring Controller connected to it over the MACRO ring. The UMAC 16-Axis MACRO CPU configurations communicate with PMAC2 Ultralites, Turbo PMAC2 Ultralites, or Power PMAC MACRO Ring Controllers solely through the MACRO ring, interfacing to standard drives, encoders, flags, and I/O through on-board connectors. In almost every case, a Turbo PMAC Ultralite, Power PMAC EtherLite or Turbo/Power UMAC CPU with ACC-5E or ACC-5E3 (Power only) will be used as the MACRO Master.
