The VC900-M8M is an automotive cybersecurity solution for vehicle telematics in the smart transportation industry. It’s powered by NXP's ARM-based i.MX 8M applications processor, providing high performance and low power consumption, as part of NXP's EdgeVerse™ edge computing platform. The i.MX 8M features industry-leading multimedia processing with four 1.5GHz Arm Cortex-A53 and Cortex-M4 cores. The VC900-M8M runs on Yocto Linux 2.5 and Android 9.0 operating systems, making it suitable for a wide range of in-vehicle applications.
As automotive cybersecurity has gradually turned into a global focus, Europe announced UN R155, the world’s first mandatory regulation for automotive cybersecurity. It is foreseeable that in the near future, vehicle cybersecurity will become a “must-have” for the automotive industry. VC900-M8M implements VicOne’s automotive cybersecurity solution, xCarbon, a zero-friction automotive intrusion detection and prevention system (IDPS) specifically designed for vehicle systems. By combining technologies such as machine learning (ML) to create tools such as smart sensor modules and virtual patch programs, xCarbon provides cybersecurity solutions for in-vehicle electronic control components (ECU) in a way that consumes the least amount of resources. It is suitable for different automotive electrical and electronic architectures (EEA)
