The EL series of electrostatic extractors are made of sturdy folded and painted metal sheet and are equipped with fan motors that combine power and low noise. They are designed for use on all types of machine tools that use cooling lubricants. The range consists of four different models with capacities from 400 to 1,600 m³/h. All the filters are equipped with protection against power supply short-circuits possible discharge between the electrodes. Each filter is equipped with an on/off switch, "power-on" indicator, filter short circuit indicator, and a clearly visible heat monitor indicator.
Air contaminated by oil particles is conveyed to the extractor by the effect of the vacuum generated by the fan. It then passes through one or more pre-filters until it is finally filtered by the electrostatic cell. The first section of the cell, the ionisation cell, is formed by tungsten wires, charged to 10 kV dc that sustain an electric field which attracts the uni-polar charged particles. In the second section, the collecting cell, pure aluminium plates charged to 5 kV dc firmly trap and retain the particles. The air then flows to a finisher filter to be permanently expelled. The system is highly efficient, and the cell is able to trap pollutants having a particle size between 0.01 and 10 microns with concentrations up to 50 mg/cubic metre with limited pressure loss (8 mmH2O with clogged filter).
