Duplomatic is famous for its capacity to customize standard product to satisfy the highly critical requirements in some special applications. Here we introduce two specific requests: one in the heavy transportation field and the other in the oil & gas industry. For the manufacturing of big crankshafts, Duplomatic has developed a solution with a 1.2 mt tool-disc fitted on the electromechanical turret BSV-N320. The management of a so big inertia is reached by a special setup of our UCN Control Unit that can be easily interfaced with any CNC brand available on Market. A quick tool change is available thanks the integrated Capto C4 clamping units. This solution offers not only a very high accuracy but also a great rigidity. On the big flat bed lathes where deep boring bars are basic tools, two issues are primary: handling of heavy tools and chip breakage and its evacuation. On our big vertical turrets TRM-S, we have developed a rotary union which supplies 2- hydraulic ways (P-T) for automatic tool clamping/unclamping on special toolholders fitted on turret housing. Oil pressure can reach 100 bar to grant tool change also for big adapters like Capto C8. By a hydro-piloted valve installed in the turret base, we can grant a coolant pressure up to 60-70 bar on the boring bar axis. Combination of automatic tool change and high coolant pressure is a key point for competitiveness in the oil & gas industry.
