Hydrocyclone separators are effective in removing suspended particles from any flow stream or water stream where the specific gravity is heavier than the fluid. Sand, grit and other fine solids in process water or liquid systems reduce efficiency of equipment by plugging and clogging heat exchangers, cooling water systems, valves, nozzles. This causes lost of productivity because of downtime for repairs, replacement parts.
Hydrocyclone separators are used to remove unwanted, heavier solids utilizing centrifugal forces. Hydrocyclone separators are suited for small system applications, side-stream applications and individual equipment protection. They are used in the oil and gas, process, geothermal and mining industry. The hydrocyclone separator can also be used as pre-separator for flow streams that contains high levels of sand or other large organic debris.
