• Complies with ISO 4800, Type 2
• Manufactured from 3.3 expansion borosilicate glass complying with ISO 3585 (ASTM E-438 Type 1 Class A)
• The funnel stem has a ground cone joint
• With ROTAFLO® General Purpose PTFE stopcock assembly for fine control of the liquid flow.
• These funnels can also be used with Soxhlet assemblies as a solvent trap to facilitate recovery at the end of the extraction
Pressure equalising funnels have a narrow-bore glass tube from the bulb of the funnel, to just above the ground glass joint on the stem. This replaces the liquid volume lost in the bulb with the equivalent gas volume from the flask into which the reagent is flowing, and is useful when handling air-sensitive reagents in a sealed, inert-gas environment. Without this tube, or some other means to equalize the pressure between a sealed receiving flask and the bulb of the funnel, the flow of fluid from the bulb will stop.
