The Dytran model 3120B is an accelerometer that is a double ended IEPE reference (comparison). It can be used with unknown acceleration, velocity and displacement sensors in order to measure their sensitivity and frequency response characteristics. It can be easily integrated with any vibration library consisting of electrodynamic shaker and control system. This would be to provide in-house NIST traceable calibrations. It can be mounted to a shaker head using 10-32 tapped hole.
The Dytran model 3120B offers 10.5 mV/g sensitivity. It can be mounted directly to the top mounting surface of the calibration standard. The coupled pair is then driven at various frequencies and amplitudes using an electrodynamic shake system. Amplitude is determined at every test frequency. Test accelerometer is used to read the corresponding output. It can also be used to form a complete measurement system.
