The Dytran 5802A version is an IEPE impulse sledge hammer that proves a perfect tool to stimulate large structures where the impulse is used for analysis of their dynamic properties. The impulse is used for reverberation detection that proves useful for computation guidelines during analysis of housing and also enables to distinguish the structural maintenance for test specimen.
The Dytran model 5802A has a sensitivity of 1 mV/lbf and measurement range of 5,000 lbf. The model is made of 3 pounds crown and supplemented with four attachments of replaceable jolt tips. A BNC jack at the hammer knob terminal helps pass the current. The Dytran IEPE impulse sledge hammer is designed with a special acceleration compensated piezoelectric force sensor in the hammer head at striking face for a perfect frequency spectrum removing any hick-ups or irregularities.
