The HICON pusher-type furnace is the most modern design for reheating and homogenizing aluminum ingots. In contrast to conventional furnaces (such as soaking pit furnaces), the HICON pusher-type furnace is a facility that operates semi-continuously.
Using HICON (HIgh CONvection) technology, powerful, application-specific atmosphere recirculation fans and a finely-tuned baffle system create optimum flow conditions for the transfer of thermal energy to the charge at the highest rate.
HICON pusher-type furnaces are distinguished by the following features:
Short heating-up times
Fully automatic operation of the facility
Low energy consumption
Straightforward operation and process control
Temperature scatter below 6 K throughout entire charge
Long service life of key components
No damage to rolling surfaces
Low maintenance
The facility can be implemented to comply with the standards required by the automotive and aerospace industry. These standards are primarily AMS 2750 (SAE Aerospace) in the aircraft industry and CQI-9 (AIAG) in the automotive industry.
