The FLU lathe bed is made of Meehanite casting and built with high rigidity casted in a single whole piece. The box type internal structure is highly rigid design with hardened precision ground guideway using TSF coated carriage to minimize the possibility of low speed stick-slip.
The FLU series is specially developed for large-diameter and heavy workpiece weights. The FLU is the most suitable machine for these types of workpieces and has the advantages of both high efficiency and economy. They feature extremely rigid structure and superior precision in rough and finish machining.
At the heart of this machine is a strong and rigid headstock with a hardened and ground main spindle, which features a 5.118" bore and a guideway which is inlaid with "TSF" wear-resisting material for superior cutting capability. Operators benefit from the increased control that comes with 16 spindle speeds (3 – 315 RPM) and a wider range of feeds and threading choices.
The unique rib structure is made with high-quality casting to ensure greater stability and accuracy in heavy-duty applications.
Ecotech Large Swing Lathes are designed for optimum performance, heavy stock removal while providing the versatility required by a large range of industries such as job shops, mining industry, paper mills, power utilities, shipbuilding and repair and the oil country industries. All machines are tested to the most meticulous accuracy before shipping.
The Headstock main spindle is extremely rigid utilizing high accuracy spindle bearing. The spindle-box of heat-symmetrical structure to avoid spindle axis drifting, oil lubricating to minimize heat distortion.
