Description

The Highly Efficient Gas Dispersing Impeller Highly efficient gas dispersing impeller for gas-liquid-reactions and gassed suspensions The EKATO PHASEJET was developed to eliminate the shortcomings of flat blade disc turbines under gassed conditions. The impeller blades were designed to match the shape of gas cavities and the specially contoured edges of the blades help to avoid flow separation. The difference in the power draw between the gassed and ungassed state is considerably smaller. At the same time, the flooding limit is partially more than twice as high as that of a conventional gassing impellers so that the overall efficiency of the EKATO PHASEJET is considerably higher. Industries • Chemicals • Food • Hydrometallurgy • Pharmaceuticals Applications • Fermentation • Hydrogenation • Oxidation • Alkoxylation • Hydroformulation • Carboxylation Benefits • Fixed speed during gassed and ungassed conditions • High flooding limit • Optimized mass transfer • No risk of plugged sparger rings The PHASEJET impeller eliminates the disadvantages of a Rushton turbine. The impeller allows a cost-effective agitator design at constant speed due to its low power drop under gassing. At the same time, the impeller can handle more than double the gas rates without flooding compared to a Rushton turbine. Furthermore, the impeller ensures a good homogeneity in the process medium, even at high gas flow rates in combination with a high mass transfer capability.
