Description
Tungsten electrodes - with the exception of pure electrodes are doped with oxide additives in order to achieve easy ignition of the arc and to increase the current and temperature capacity. As a substitute for the more frequently used, slightly radioactive electrodes based on thorium, radiation-free electrodes with cerium, lanthanum oxide and mixed oxide are recommended.
