Meggitt Sensing Systems presents Endevco® model 22 Picomin™. It is the most compact piezoelectric accelerometer in the world. It has been developed specially for measuring vibration on small items like circuit boards, scaled models, and disk drives. It has a light weight of only 0.14 gm. This ensures efficient removal of any effects of mass loading.
Thanks to the transducer's design, it has reverse polarity towards acceleration moving to the mounting base. The accelerometer can operate without any external power source and is of self-generating type. Model 22 has Endevco's Piezite® type P-8 crystal element, which works in radial shear mode. This mode shows highly stable output sensitivity over time. A hard anodized surface is used for isolating the signal ground from the unit's mounting surface.
The model 22 comes with a specially engineered coaxial cable with low noise. This ensures a zero-error operation. The shipping case has a tool that helps in properly removing the cable and transducer in the field. It is recommended that Endevco signal conditioner models 133 or Oasis 2000 computer-operated system be used along with this high impedance accelerometer.
