This device is used to measure strains in tunnel linings, steel struts and reinforcing bars of piles, columns, walls and the like.
The vibrating wire extensometer is often used to measure the deformation of metal structures to which it is attached. The deformation of concrete components can also be measured with transducers set in concrete. This instrument guarantees long-term accuracy and stability.
Thanks to the frequency signal, it is not affected by the length of the cable or electromagnetic interference.
A thermistor for measuring the temperature is embedded in the device.
The vibrating wire extensometer works as follows: A steel wire is stretched between two mounting blocks that are fixed to the surface to be measured or set in concrete. Any deformation of these blocks changes
the voltage in the steel wire and therefore the resonant frequency. An internal electromagnetic coil measures the resonant frequency and thus the voltage of the wire.
