Entec's Epoxy Insulated Fault Interrupter is a one-shot circuit breaker used in the overhead line of 25.8kV. It protects the upstream lines by interrupting the fault currents up to 12.5kA and provides sectionalizing functions by isolating the faulted area.
The EFI uses spring charged mechanism, and it uses vacuum interrupters encapsulated in the epoxy bushing to arc quenching.
The bushings are made of HCEP(Hydrophobic Cycloaliphatic Epoxy) that provides excellent insulation performance even under harsh climatic environments and polluted areas. The EFI tank and control cubicle are made of stainless steel, which have strong endurance against hot, humid, dusty, or corrosive environment.
Two types of microprocessor-based controls can be applied for the operation: ETMFC101-N2, which the communication functions are available and ETMFC50, which has sectionalizing functions without communication.
The EFI has been fully type tested by KERI, an accredited laboratory, according to the specification of KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corp.) of Polymer-insulated fault interrupters for 25.8kV overhead line. It can also fully comply with the international standard IEC 602271-111, ANSI 37.60
