Plug-in thermocouples are used to measure or control temperatures in the range up to 400°C. They are used in plastic processing machines, injection moulding machines, cylinder heads and bearings, and on piping and vessels. They are usually plugged into the drilled holes or the machine parts and are easy to replace. In the version with bayonet, the bayonet caps are spring-mounted axially.
In the fast-reacting EPHYMESS plug-in thermocouples, heat is absorbed through the floor of the protective pipe, which has good heat conducting properties. The shape of the floor (level, spherical, drill angle 120°) can be adapted to the geometry of the drilled hole to improve heat transmission. The thermometers are also produced with a pressure spring and a bayonet cap, which press the sensor firmly onto the floor of the plug-in drilled hole or the screw-in sleeve, achieving better thermal coupling depending on the application.
