Measuring transmitters are used above all in environments in which electrical or electromagnetic interfering fields occur. The length of the supply line can also influence the measuring result, making the use of measuring transmitters effective here, too. Temperature sensors usually provide an electrical voltage in the milli-volt range as an output signal, making them very vulnerable to malfunction. Measuring transmitters transform and amplify the weak sensor signal and deliver a stable current or voltage signal. This eliminates measuring errors and guarantees lossless, undisturbed transmission even across greater distances.
