Brass or stainless steel are available as the material for the head. They are often used to monitor the bearing temperature of electric motors, generators or large pumps and are therefore also available in an approved Ex version as per IECEx and ATEX (ignition protection class Ex i and Ex e). The number (12/18/24/38) corresponds to the outer diameter of the respective connection head in millimetres excluding the cable connection port on the side.
