EPLAN Smart Mounting simplifies the manual installation of mechanical and electrotechnical components in control cabinet manufacturing. Precise work instructions, combined with a 3D visualisation, ensure efficient control cabinet construction. The browser-based software can be used directly at a workstation in workshops and production facilities – and all of it only requires a brief training. Using Smart Mounting you can quickly and precisely position components in the control cabinet. This is made possible with check lists including clear working instructions and a corresponding 3D visualisation – all based on the digital twin from EPLAN Pro Panel. Smart Mounting leads assembly technicians step by step through the installation of DIN rails, cable ducts and electrotechnical components. The software offers individualised support for each process step. It further provides a visualisation of where and how each component must be placed. In addition, exact dimensions and drill patterns can also be displayed in the 3D model. Production technicians thereby receive detailed component data and visual aids at a glance, and can also access production-supporting materials and information. EPLAN Smart Mounting tracks the current status of every individual component using the common traffic-light principle: completely installed components light up green, while those still needing work light up red. If there are questions about specific components, technicians can note them using the comments function and forward them to the engineering department via e-mail or in a status report.
