The Meringange is a conical furnace from Eraly that is designed to measure the expansion capacity of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) tubes when their heated. It does its measuring function by getting the expansion rate of a PVC plate during combustion under heat radiation. A flat test specimen that measures (50 x 50 +/-1) mm is put under an electrical cone calorimeter and emits radiation of (50±0.5) kW/m² on the test specimen surface.
This furnace's main frame is forged from anodized aluminum. It has a stainless steel hood on the top, and 2 opening glass doors on the side. This furnace adheres to the standards of NF brand Fire Safety for PVC pipes and fittings.
