The module acts as a PROFINET® IO device with a maximum data transfer of 1440 bytes of input data and 1440 bytes of output data each. The CAN-PN/2(-FD) connects CAN FD and Classic CAN devices with applications e.g. on a SIMATIC-S7 or other controllers. Up to 512 static CAN send or receive frames can be configured and processed as modules. In addition, any number of dynamic CAN frames can be sent and received via Record Data Objects. The transmission of the CAN frames can be configured cyclically or also triggered by new data. The ISO 11898-2 compatible CAN interface allows a maximum data transfer rate of 1 MBit/s with Classic CAN or up to 8 MBit/s with CAN FD.
