Description

This pallet racking system provides the highest levels of storage capacity and fully maximises the use of the surface area available. The system’s vertical elements are aligned longitudinally to form parallel loading lanes. Both sides of each lane is equipped with the necessary components to support pallets to the full height of the structure and therefore forklift trucks can drive into the lanes to deposit or withdraw palletised goods. This solution almost doubles the capacity of a conventional pallet racking system as it does away with the need for aisles for circulation and stores unit loads more compactly. This means that selective access to each pallet is therefore sacrificed in favour of greater productivity of the usable space. The structure’s specifications (number of lanes, height, depth, etc.) depend on the type and number of products, their rotation rate, the lifting equipment used, the total space available and which logistics management system is implemented. Compact pallet racking systems can be installed in either single entrance configurations, if the lanes are only accessible from one side (these are usually attached to the building’s walls), or double entrance blocks, if forklifts can access them from both sides. The latter layout is normally loaded from one end of the lanes and unloaded from the other.
