SHELL-MOLD CASTING FOR CAST IRON AND STEEL
The process of casting into shell molds is similar to casting in sandy-argillaceous forms. The molten metal is poured into a disposable thin-walled shell made by applying a mixture of sand and resin to the model of the desired product.
The model is reusable and is used to form several shell shapes.
Reusable templates allow you to increase production rates, while disposable templates allow you to obtain geometrically more complex and accurate products.
For casting into shell molds, we use both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, most often carbon steel, cast iron, alloyed and stainless steels, aluminum and copper alloys.
