An inspection line is a line that allows metre-by-metre control of the quality of a coil over its entire length and correction of bad areas, in order to ensure the consistent good quality of all material shipped to the end users.
The inspection line checks the coil; to do so it is uncoiled and checked, any defects are eliminated, and lastly it is coiled up again, ensuring the perfect quality of the final coil.
Moreover, taking advantage of the process, a central cut can be made in order to obtain two narrower coils from one wide ‘mother’ coil.
The main benefits of our inspection and rewinding lines are:
High productivity and reliability.
A high degree of automation.
They provide technical solutions aimed at reducing downtime.
Optimum quality standards in the design, components and manufacture of the equipment.
Flexibility to adapt to customer requirements.
Comprehensive turnkey solutions.
Integration of any necessary external equipment (welding equipment, surface quality vision systems, oilers, etc.).
Based on the basic needs of inspection of the coil, it is possible to include multiple performance in the line to fulfil the desired requirements:
Inspection cabin to allow easy detection of coil defects by operators
Automatic measurement of thickness
Automatic measurement of width
Automatic oiling of the strip
Edge trimming to remove the edges of the entry coil that can be damaged
Laser welding unit in order to rejoin the strip, once the damaged parts have been removed
Automatic strip marking and coding
Elimination of burrs produced during the cut
High speed cropping of damaged areas with a high-speed rotary shear
