The GreCon FORMATOR removes material from the moulding strand with a segmented scalper and then measures whether the segment of the scalper needs to be raised or lowered. This opens up new optimisation potential for the production of high-quality wood-based panels. In addition to a significant reduction in scatter variants, the FORMATOR can also be used to produce special mat profiles.
Benefits at a glance
Reduction of material costs
Saving of wood, glue and energy
Reduction of the material added just for sanding off
Reduction of run-in times upon product changes
Improve Quality
More homogeneous products
Less rejects for the end customer
Better processing by downstream processes (sawing, sanding, milling, …)
Better coatability (e.g. lacquering)
Firm edges due to reduced material removal of the edge overfill
Reduction of process costs
Higher production speed
Higher capacity utilisation
Higher availability of production facilities
Steel belt protection
Longer service life of sanding belts
Reduction of logistic costs
Lighter panels
Easier panel handling
Design of the system
The GreCon FORMATOR automatically standardises the material distribution in the wood-based panel mat, resulting in remarkable improvements in panel quality and significant savings in material, process and logistics costs.
The combination of segmented scalper and MATCONTROL HF X-ray scanner achieves high spreading accuracy. Both systems are integrated into a control loop so that the material distribution on the mat is set automatically for the first time.
