FELLAR engineers have designed two basic types of tandem reducers with several drive shafts, one for cases where the reducer is being driven by two or more motors and one for cases where the reducer is doing the driving.
In cases where the reducer is being driven by a number of motors our products, which are usually very large-scale, are specially designed to withstand the very high levels of torque they have to transmit. These kinds of reducers are used primarily in the shipping industry in stern drives and drives for mills and crushers both in the cement industry and in mining.
In cases where the reducer is doing the driving, our products are designed for the most common application of these mid-sized reducers, which is to drive a variety of rollers at medium to high speeds. These products are generally used with levellers, small cold rolling mills, etc.
