At FELLAR we have extensive experience in the design and manufacture of speed increasers including speed increasers that are driven by electric or internal combustion engines and those driven by rotors or low speed components.
Motor driven speed increasers: FELLAR manufactures medium-sized (up to 10,000 kg) high-speed increasers (speeds up to 7000 r.p.m.) and smaller increasers for speeds up to 30,000 r.p.m. Motor-driven speed increasers have very high output circumferential speeds, so our designs usually have double-helical gears with special anti-friction bearings and a sophisticated lubrication system.
Speed increasers driven by rotors or low-speed components: Our designs and products in this range usually drive standard-speed electric generators and are used for generating wind or hydro-power. They can weigh up to 35,000 kg and can generate up to 5 MW of power. The design for these kinds of speed increasers is based on tandem and planet gears with standard bearings.
