FELLAR has been around since its beginning in the shipbuilding industry designing and manufacturing all kinds of power transmission elements, especially marine reducers and the related types of couplings. Our engineering department designed several simple marine gearboxes capable of transmitting powers up to 30.000 CV. For special executions of large motors spacing, we designed in FELLAR double marine gearboxes with large shafts spacing and various gear trains capable of transmitting powers up to 40.000 CV. We have a great experience in the design and manufacture of the most widely used marine geared engine connections (especially with flange). Flexible couplings, fabric or metal reinforced rubber, usually used for simple engine. For gear units with two or more engines, a combination of flexible couplings with double taper or similar clutch is used. Flexible couplings with multi-disc clutches. This coupling is not only used between the engine-reducer but also is often used in the union reducer-afterpart.
