Tacchella Multitech cylindrical grinding machines with a double wheel carriage combine several technologies within a single system. The machine architecture includes two adjustable and independent turrets sitting on guides that are arranged crosswise, a longitudinal axis (Z1, Z2-axis), a transverse axis (X1, X2-axis) and a fixed workpiece headstock. The design enables different grinding wheel configurations for standard and high cutting speeds (hard turning up to 120 m/min).
ADVANTAGES
HOW TO BENEFIT FROM TACCHELLA MULTITECH CYLINDRICAL GRINDING MACHINES WITH A DOUBLE GRINDING CARRIAGE
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE
Tacchella Multitech cylindrical grinding machines with a double wheel carriage enable the machining of workpieces up to 600 mm long and 230 mm high and weighing up to 250 kg between the centers. CBN grinding wheels (500 x 50 mm) can be used at speeds up to 140 m/s. The guides on the main axes – hydrostatic or on rolling elements – ensure the machine's enduring dynamic properties.
MAXIMUM PRECISION
The workpiece headstock with a rotating spindle and integrated drive (C-axis) safely resists the high dynamic stresses generated in the machining of parts between the centers or suspended in a chuck. The tailstock features automatic reconfiguration of the axial thrust on the workpiece, as intended by the separate controls for grinding and turning cycles.
GREATEST FLEXIBILITY
Drive for the main axes (Z1, Z2, X1, X2) is provided by linear motors to increase dynamic performance and make the system easy to maintain. Ball screw drives arranged coaxially to the digital drive motors can optionally be used.
