Morara MT 2500 HD cylindrical grinding machines with a double wheel carriage for the special requirements of a railway carriage manufacturer. These grinding machines are suitable for high-precision machining of workpieces with a length of 2,500 mm. The strengthened workpiece headstock develops a maximum torque of 600 Nm to generate the correct counter-thrust to the grinding wheel action. This cylindrical grinding machine can be equipped with 760 mm diameter grinding wheels up to 340 mm thick and with a peripheral speed up to 50 m/s.
ADVANTAGES
HOW TO BENEFIT FROM MORARA MT 2500 HD CYLINDRICAL GRINDING MACHINES WITH A DOUBLE GRINDING CARRIAGE
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE
Morara MT 2500 HD cylindrical grinding machines with a double wheel carriage have been specifically designed for machining large workpieces up to 2,500 mm long. The heavy construction (around 18 t) of the monolithic, stabilized cast iron machine bed with circumferential channels for coolant collection caters for very high vibration damping.
MAXIMUM PRECISION
The two grinding spindle heads move on ultra-precise linear guides (size 55) driven by linear motors in the longitudinal direction (X- and Z-axis). This machine can be optionally equipped with a B-axis for automatic positioning of the right grinding wheel carriage in any angular position to create a taper at certain points on workpieces. This is freely programmable between +/- 5° with a resolution of 0.0001°.
GREATEST FLEXIBILITY
The universal workpiece headstock is available with a fixed or moving center (ASA6-Morse 6) for grinding between the centers. The speed (10–200 rpm) is continuously variable thanks to the brushless motor.
