Description

Morara MH external cylindrical grinding machines are the perfect solution for precise grinding of the end sections on railway axles. The Morara MH permits grinding of railway axles weighing up to 2,500 kg along with the twin discs (right and left) at a 20° approach angle in a single setup. ADVANTAGES HOW TO BENEFIT FROM MORARA MH EXTERNAL CYLINDRICAL GRINDING MACHINES ENHANCED PERFORMANCE The machine bed on Morara MH external cylindrical grinding machines is made of stabilized cast iron that is naturally aged and matured to minimize material tension after the first pre-machining phase. Hydrodynamic grinding spindles ensure the system's high rigidity and long service life. MAXIMUM PRECISION This machine can be optionally equipped with a B-axis for automatic positioning of the right grinding wheel carriage in any angular position to create a taper at certain points on workpieces. This is freely programmable between +/- 5° with a resolution of 0.0001°. GREATEST FLEXIBILITY The workpiece headstock offers a fixed or moving center (ASA6-Morse 6) for grinding between the centers. The speed is continuously variable (10–200 rpm) thanks to the brushless motor. The maximum torque of 600 Nm creates the ideal counter-thrust to the grinding wheel action. IDEAL ERGONOMICS The hydraulically operated tailstock has a sleeve (100 mm diameter, 120 mm stroke) and a safety device for detecting the correct voltage and the workpiece's axial clamping force configuration. The cylindrical shape can be adjusted by +/- 0.24 mm.
