Description

The T510 is DIN rail mounted module for interfacing Modbus RTU instruments to a Profibus PA network. The T510 is a complete transmitter module. It allows interfacing of up to 4 Modbus instruments. The dynamic variables can either be presented in the standard Profibus PA 3.02 format or as a block of data. The data length, the Modbus addresses and the Modbus data-rate are configurable using DPV1 services. Profibus DP-V0 is also supported. The module supports both a standard 3.02 profile Ident No as well as a Manufacturer specific Ident No. In order to communicate with a Modbus instrument, the T510 includes a Modbus Master. It is a Profibus Slave. The module reads the variables from the instrument and converts these to dynamic variables on Profibus. Four AI Function Blocks are supported. The location of the Modbus registers and data type of the Modbus variable can be configured using a PC based configuration tool that comes with the converter. The Primary Variable (PV) will be continuously read and updated. Any Modbus communication problem will be reported in the Profibus Diagnostics message. T510 supports diagnostic information according to NAMUR NE107. The user has full flexibility in mapping diagnosis to the four NAMUR flags. The physical interface is RS 485. The T510 supports alarm flagging in the module. The user can configure four alarm levels using a standard configuration tool. The T510 supports low-pass filtering in the module. The user can configure the damping value using a standard configuration tool. A transparent Modbus channel is available.
