Inspection manhole cover in ductile iron EN-GJS-500-7 conforming to norm UNI EN 1563:2012
FRAME
It is rectangular in shape, it is made in a single cast and it can be opened through triangular covers, without seals. The stability is guaranteed by a square edge metal to metal connection on three points. The outside border is ribbed and slotted, in order to optimise its hold in the cement mortar and facilitate the insertion of the anchoring bolts. Furthermore, the hinge seating of the cover is obtained through casting process.
COVERS
It is triangular in shape, hinged to the frame, it presents gas pistons which facilitate the handling operations by a single worker, reducing considerably his effort; the maximum opening is 110°. The locking mechanism is made in stainless steel, it can be handled with a special shaped key, which increases safety and prevents the opening of the manhole covers by non authorised personnel. Furthermore, the key becomes a comfortable handle for opening and closing the cover. The upper surface is designed to be non-skid to allow the complete flow of water and avoid the creation of ice.
