HOW IT WORKS
The water pump sends coolant to the most important parts of the engine and allows the correct engine operating temperature to be maintained.
During normal operation of the engine, however, the temperature of the coolant remains in equilibrium between its operating temperature and the maximum temperature permitted by the cooling system; when the temperature exceeds the threshold, the thermostat allows coolant to flow, lowering its temperature via the radiator.
PERFORMANCE
Using the engine within a controlled range of temperatures also leads to optimum efficiency of the engine systems, and therefore provides a significant contribution to keeping polluting emissions under control, as well as ensuring correct operation.
