Description

Description Primer DV is recommended for enhancing adhesion of PU based adhesives on oily leathers. It is compatible for use in connection with either one-part or two-part PU adhesives, such as X/165, XM/887, XM/87, XM/149. Characteristics Composition : synthetic resins in a blend of organic solvents. Mode of setting : solvent release and reaction with an accelerator. Colour : transparent. Solvent blend : ketones and esters. Components : a two-part primer; to be used with the addition of 2 to 3% of Accelerator VKL/50, Desmodur® RE or RFE Pot - life : over 4 hours Technical data Solid content : 17-20 % Viscosity : 150-300 mPa.s (Brookfield spindle 2, speed 50 at 25°C) Method of use Surface preparation: Upper leathers and sole leathers are to be carefully roughed. Fabric uppers should be roughed with steel abrading buffer or fine grained sand paper. Application of the primer: apply by brush or spreading machine a coat of Primer DV to which 3% of Accelerator should have been previously added. Drying time: allow to dry at least 5 to 10 minutes before spreading the PU based adhesive. With oily leathers with very high grease content it may prove necessary to apply a slight heating to the surface by means of an infra red rays lamp or an hot air drought. Once the priming coat has dried out, then the suitable PU adhesive can be applied. Thinner: ST/121
