The outdoor switch-disconnector FLa 15/97 38,5-6300-90 has been designed for safely conducting very high currents and for safely switching moderate operating currents.
It is available for a rated voltage of up to 38,5 kV and for rated currents of up to 6.300 A.
The switch is able to switch on corresponding currents using the vacuum interrupter in the shunt. Switch-off is also performed in this location, ensuring that no switching arcs are externally visible.
In this way, the switch is ready to perform tasks such as safely switching on and off capacitive cable charging currents of up to 28 A.
It has also exhibited its shunt capacitor switching capability in a spécial type test. During this test, the switch demonstrated that it has no problem performing multiple switch-on operations for shunt capacitor switch-on currents of up to 9,5 kA at an inrush frequency of 300 Hz.
A sophisticated eccentric switching mechanism activâtes the vacuum interrupter and guarantees a mechani-cal service life of 10.000 switching operations.
In order for such high short-circuit currents to be conducted safely, contact éléments featuring a silver-gra-phite coating hâve been developed and are designed to hâve a particularly long mechanical and electrical service life.
