The all day battery life and bright LCD screen ensure that a technician can quickly find a leak in any conditions. The sensor works by passing light through a chamber with the sample inside. There is an optical filter in front of the detector to eliminate all wavelengths of IR except the one absorbed by the gas. The gas concentration is measured by the absorption of a specific wavelength. A higher quantity of that wavelength being received by the detector will result in a lower reading. Less light reaching the sensor results in a higher reading.
