This set of VME Boards and VHDL IP is part of the VME Bus family. The VME Bus family is aimed at making low-cost access possible to resources required to build a fast prototype of a VME master/slave/controller subsystem. Numerous types of application can be made with with minimal effort due to the modularity of the resources, relating to both the hardware board and the firmware VHDL IP.
It can be used in various applications such as in boards or components when replacing obsolete ones, in test systems in order to perform a test cycle to the UUT slave board and/or to acknowledge the bus cycles from a UUT master board as well as performing bus signal checks. It is also of use in heterogeneous systems when a mixture of varying form factor boards and a flexible bridge are needed, for example, between VME standard/customized bus and PC/PXI bus.
