The GEB Enterprise enhanced mini PCIe board makes easy to add a powerful I/O and DSP capability on your SBC or MINI-ITX motherboards.
It adds FPGA programmable high bandwidth I/O and DSP capability at a low cost, making it ideal for equipments in many fields of application, such as electromedical, automation, sonar, meteo radar, performances and errors rate analysis, video and data players and recorders. Using the DMA and the PC system memory you will be to store/recall data stream up to about 250 Mbytes/Sec allowing to build memoryless data player/recorder with DSP capability.
The standard Mini PCIe form factor is ideal for many kinds of applications, it is present on many compact PC motherboards such as Intel Galileo and Advantech MIO-5250.
The PCIEM-15-IO hosts an Altera CycloneIV-GX EP4CGX30BF14C6N FPGA that makes available hardwired PCIe target interfaces, 29440LE, 1080Kbits RAM, 4xPLLs, 80xMultiplyers.
The I/O connectors, bringing out 53 I/O FPGA pins and 3 clocks, interfaces the front end board, such as level shifter or ADC/DAC. A 2 Mbytes RAM module can also be hosted on them allowing to use a NIOSII CPU for handling critical interrupts.
Using the Altera tools, some pre-created structures supplied inside the Development Kit and the free Altera IP, you will be able to build a complete custom FPGA system in few hours. The MS Windows and Linux drivers, are able to read/write the I/O registers, handle interrupts, manage DMA in virtual memory. Demo and example programs are also available.
