GEI press-locked gratings are composed of flat cold-laminated insert bars pressed into existing notches in bearing bars. They are manufactures using techniques that guarantee a constant production quality (manufacture according to RAL GZ638) and are typically made from S235JR steel. Commonly used for manufacturing technical walkways and staircase steps, it is also used for aesthetic elements such as sun-breaker and privacy screens, as well as in construction for sections of façades, fencing and solid balustrades. The mesh spacing is defined in accordance with the standards and loads that must be respected: For a BB thickness of 2-3 mm: The BB spacing is typically a multiple of 11.11. The IB spacing is typically a multiple of 11.11. For a BB thickness of 4-5 mm: The BB spacing is typically a multiple of 18. The IB spacing is typically a multiple of 17.
