The mooney shearing-disc viscometer measures the Mooney viscosity, pre-curing and stress relaxation characteristics of both uncompounded and compounded rubbers. The test takes care of measuring the torque that needs to be applied at specified temperature and under specified pressure conditions so that the metal disc can be rotated at a speed of 2 rpm in the cylindrical test chamber that is filled with rubber
The Mooney viscosity of the test piece is the resistance offered by the rubber to this rotation. The test chamber is easily accessible, has a transparent safety panel and safety lock. The test chamber and the rotor comply with international standards. Thermoregulators and a PID microprocessor control the test chamber heating with O.1 °C accuracy.
